BepiColombo

ESA/JAXA mission to Mercury, spiraling inward through repeated planetary flybys before orbiting the innermost planet.

JPL Horizons · to Apr 2027 Trajectory basis, the same label the app shows on the selection card.

Every aspect, with its origin

One record per aspect. The origin says what kind of thing each value is; the source says where it came from; the limit says what it cannot tell you.

Trajectory Catalog

Trajectory from Horizons state vectors

BepiColombo's position is interpolated between 4,373 heliocentric state-vector samples from JPL Horizons that run through 2027-04-01. Past the last sample the marker holds its final position.

MethodJ2000 equatorial, Sun-centred position samples loaded from a versioned Blob snapshot. Historical encounter samples are preserved; active mission windows are refreshed daily by Trigger.dev in UTC. The app interpolates linearly between adjacent samples.
UncertaintyAccuracy depends on the mission ephemeris and prediction horizon. Linear interpolation adds error that grows with sample spacing (hours in the current window, finer around historical flybys). No trajectory covariance is stored.
LimitPosition only. Spacecraft attitude (which way it points) is not modelled, and no covariance is stored.

BepiColombo: mass 4.100 × 10^3 kg. These values are bundled with the object record and drive the rendered size.
