Totality crosses Iceland and northern Spain, lasting up to about 2 minutes 18 seconds at sea and about 1 minute 50 seconds in Spain. Check the city table or open the event in 3D.
This is the first total solar eclipse over mainland Europe since 1999. The Moon’s shadow crosses Iceland and the North Atlantic before reaching northern Spain shortly before sunset. The Sun will be low there, while much of the rest of Europe sees a partial eclipse.

Cities at the path edge (“Edge of totality”) are genuinely borderline; shadow-edge predictions differ by a few kilometres between models. If you're near the edge, travel toward the centre of the path.
Each city page includes contact times, coverage, totality duration where applicable, and a link to the live countdown.
📅 Don’t miss it: add to Google Calendar, or download an .ics for Apple Calendar and Outlook. Both include a day-before reminder. Or open the 3D simulation now and scrub to totality.
